I use voipfone & can recommend it. As far as I know there is No limit to the number of participants in a conference call at any one time.

    Skype.

I use Skype and their international plan where you can call any number in the world, to conference between people.

Skype has the lowest dropped calls for me, hence that helps save me a lot of money and facilitate good business.

Is there an RJ 2 connection? I am only familiar with RJ11 (phone lines) and RJ45 (LAN lines)

Here is a link to a bunch of different telephony applications that should work just as well over a local network as the internet. Hopefully you can find something useful.

You'll need what's called a voice modem (not a VoIP modem). US Robotics used to make a good one – they may still make it. Or you can buy cards that plug into your computer that act as interfaces between the phone line and the computer. And you'll need software which is pretty expensive – you want PBX software to run a PBX on your computer. You have to match the software to the hardware, so your best bet is to buy both from the same company.
